V. Hugo Marx III was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2004, and currently serves as Treasurer.

Mr. Marx is President of Hugo Marx & Company, Inc., one of Alabama's oldest investment banking firms with over 100 years of continuous operations. Hugo Marx & Company has specialized in the area of public finance, focusing on such municipal improvements as roads, schools, jails, city halls, airports, convention centers, and utility (water, electric, natural gas) improvements.

In addition to his activities associated with Hugo Marx & Company, Mr. Marx serves as president of several corporations. These entities employ over 370 individuals, providing professional expertise in the fields of venture capital/merchant banking, commercial real estate ownership/development, and long and short term health care.

Mr. Marx is a past president of the Birmingham Rotary Club-Sunrise, and is a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary Foundation. He also serves on the Birmingham Committee on Foreign Relations, the Newcomen Society, the Alabama Business Advisory Council, and the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Mr. Marx is a 1974 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in finance.
