Massimo Dal Monte, PhD of the University of Pisa (Italy) and an IRRF-funded scientist has been invited to contribute an abstract for the poster session at the upcoming meeting of the International Society for Eye Research (ISER) in Berlin, Germany, July 21-25. Dr. Dal Monte currently receives IRRF funds for his project, “Fight retinopathies at a molecular level: studying the intracellular pathways activated by the somatostatin analogue octreotide and the role of Src homology region 2 domain-containing phosphatase 1 (SHP-1).” Dr. Dal Monte’s abstract, “The Antiangiogenic Effect of Octreotide in Mouse Retinal Explants Involves the Inhibition of AKT Phosphorylation,” was a result of his IRRF-funded research.
