The David and Loris Rich Award Recipients

The Loris and David Rich Postdoctoral Scholar Award

The International Retinal Research Foundation recognizes the need to strengthen and expand the international pool of vision scientists who possess the scientific, technical, and professional skills required to perform independent research. Addressing this need, The Loris and David Rich Postdoctoral Scholar Award has been established to provide salary and research support in the amount of $35,000 per year for a postdoctoral scholar nearing the end of his/her training. By the end of this support, Rich Scholars are expected to have gained the expertise necessary to engage in productive eye research related to all areas of the eye, and successfully compete for extramural funding. It is anticipated that suitable candidates will be identified and nominated by established vision scientists.

Deadline for submitting nominations for The Loris and David Rich Postdoctoral Award is March 1, and will be forwarded for review to the IRRF Director of Research Education, with final approval to come from the Board of Directors. All notifications will be provided in writing, and have a July 1 funding date.
